Coffee and Donuts

On the first Sunday of each month, Council #10697 coordinates with our OLA parish to provide coffee and donuts in the OLA School Gym after at all the Sunday Masses. Council #10697 does this six times a year, while the parish also does this six times a year so together, once a month for twelve months coffee and donuts are available to our parishioners after all Sunday Masses.

The next offering of Coffee and Donuts will be Sunday, February 1, 2026.

The Power of Prayer

Each month, council #10697 meets to discuss council business. Toward the end of this meeting, we always take a moment to remember, by name, individuals in need of our prayerful intentions. Sometimes, as necessary, we also pray for the Repose of the Soul (ROS) of individuals who have passed.

Knight Bytes — Our Lady of Guadalupe Posole Dinner on 12/12/25 in the OLA Gym right after the 5PM Mass

Posole Dinner for all! Complete with cookies, a soft beverage or coffee, and dancers to the beat of awesome drum music. Please have look through the images that captured the evening. Don’t forget to watch the movie of the drumming and the dancers. A great time was had by all!

Knight Bytes — Turkey Bingo Night! in the OLA Gym on 8 November 2025

KofC Council #10697 sponsored our first ever Turkey Bingo with lots of turkeys given to winning players following a Bingo round. In addition to the Bingo rounds, raffle tickets were drawn and prizes given to the lucky raffle winners! Some of the Bingo rounds were even for cash-a great time was had by all! Thanks OLA parish for a wonderful Turkey Bingo evening.

The feast day marks Father Michael J McGivney’s birthday (August 12, 1852) and the day of his death (August 14, 1890). Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus on March 29, 1882.

In September 2024, under the leadership of our Grand Knight, Cipriano Valdez, Council 10697 and volunteers assembled together to decorate and enter a float for the ’24 State Fair Parade. The float became a wonderful way to show support to the Choose Life movement.

Jacob Romero (back row, 2nd from right) will soon undergo his Rite of Ordination into the priesthood. Jacob’s Ordination service will take at the Cathedral in Santa Fe on May,18 2024 at 10AM and he is shown surrounded by family and friends who care deeply for him.

Fish Taco Dinner on Friday, February 24, 2023

Dear K Of C Family: The Knights of Council #10697 hosted a Fish Taco Dinner immediately the 5 PM service in the OLA school Gym.

The meal fare included two tacos plus fixings along with beans and Spanish rice. Great food and great fellowship for the first Friday of Lent.

OLA Tuition Assistance Fund

Our council is working to provide a year’s worth of tuition assistance to a student at OLA school—this cost is anticipated to be about $6,000 for one student for one year. The council is hoping to have these monies in place by the end of the school year (~June 2022)

At that time, Council 10697 will donate the OLA School Tuition Assistance Fund monies to OLA school for their distribution.

Fundraising for initiatives like the Tuition Assistance Fund during this time pf COVID has been tough. With COVID numbers finally getting better, we hope to fire up our fundraising activities in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the council is asking each member for a $40 donation to our 2022 Tuition Assistance Fund.  Checks can be written to Knights of Columbus #10697 with “2022 Tuition Assistance Fund” on the Memo line.
